Celebrity Chef Antonia Lofaso Slated to Headline Wild Alaska Pollock Annual Meeting

Los Angeles television personality and celebrity chef Antonia Lofaso is on tap to headline the fifth annual Wild Alaska Pollock meeting on Sept. 28 at the Four Seasons Seattle hotel. The annual meeting of the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) brings together a number of individuals and companies engaged in the groundfish industry. Craig Morris, chief executive officer of GAPP, said Lofaso was a hit at the 2022 annual meeting, as she demonstrated live, on stage, a signature dish from her influencer work with GAPP. Survey Shows Rise in Demand for Wild Alaska Pollock Products

Year-over-year survey results show a leap in Americans’ intent-to-purchase wild Alaska Pollock over the next 30 days, according to an international marketing firm tracking product demand for the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP). Survey results presented by Ketchum Global this week during the fourth Wild Alaska Pollock annual meeting in Seattle on Oct. 17 said nearly seven million more consumers now know more about wild Alaska Pollock than a year ago. An annual study now underway on consumers perspective about wild Alaska Pollock includes questions this year about the impact of rising food prices, as well as questions specific to surimi seafood. Study conclusions are to be presented at the annual meeting of the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) at the Westin Seattle hotel on Oct. 17th. Desautel Named GAPP Board Chair

Bob Desautel, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Global Seas and Nina Fisheries, has been selected to serve as chairman of the board for the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP), replacing outgoing chair Mikel Durham of American Seafoods. GAPP CEO Craig Morris said Desautel has plans to redouble previous efforts to increase industry investment in the nonprofit focused on promoting wild Alaska Pollock in major whitefish markets worldwide. GAPP to Announce Funding Awards for Product Proposals by Mid-September

A major promoter of wild Alaska Pollock plans to announce by mid-September matching grants for its latest round of partnership funding in a competition to expand markets for wild Alaska Pollock products worldwide. All proposals are due to Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) by Aug. 12. “The global food sector is now, perhaps more than ever, ripe for disruptive innovation and break-through promotions,” GAPP Chief Executive Officer Craig Morris said.
