Alaska Marine Lines Launches New Rail Service Dock in Seattle

Alaska Marine Lines (AML) has introduced a new rail dock in Seattle to accommodate an increasing demand for Alaska pollock in destinations throughout the Lower 48 states. Much of that pollock was previously routed on vessels offloaded in Bayside, New Brunswick, Canada, followed by a short rail trip within Bayside, to connect to truck bound for eastern U.S. destinations. AML officials said the new dock, announced on July 5, offers a reliable and efficient shipping solution for seafood companies in Alaska. Wild Alaska Pollock Option Added to Seattle Kraken Arena’s Menu

Wild Alaska pollock is now on the menu at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle for Seattle Kraken hockey games, thanks to a deal struck between the Kraken, Trident Seafoods and the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP). The deal, which was announced by GAPP on April 12, states that new wild Alaska pollock items on the stadium menu would feature recipes by Molly De Mers, the stadium’s executive chef. Comment Period Extended for Proposed Base Seattle Expansion Draft PEIS

Coast Guard officials say they have extended until Dec. 16 the period for public comment on the Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for the proposed expansion of Coast Guard Base Seattle. The public comment period was previously scheduled to conclude Dec. 2. The Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement is available online for reading at  https://www.dcms.uscg.mil/NEPA The release of the Draft PEIS on Oct. 7 launched a public commentary period, during which the Coast Guard began accepting public comment online at  https://www.regulations.gov with docket number USCG-2021-0183.
