Salmon are returning to Alaska in the summer of 2020, as they always do, but Salmonfest 2020 is taking a rain check until Aug. 6-8, 2021 because of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Plans are in the works for a possible much smaller event at the fairgrounds later this year, said Jim Stearns, a 40-year veteran of the music industry who serves as executive director of the festival.
Tickets purchased for Salmonfest 2020 will be honored next year and tickets for the 2021 festival, set for Aug 6-8, are already on sale. More information and updates about Salmonfest are online at https://salmonfestalaska.org.
