SeaShare Appoints Lindoff Executive Director

Marketing executive Hannah Lindoff of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is assuming leadership of the nonprofit hunger-relief seafood entity SeaShare on April 1, filling the spot being vacated by Jim Harmon, who’s retiring after 23 years. Lindoff has worked with ASMI’s international program for over 15 years, most recently as senior director of global marketing and strategy, obtaining grant funds and managing special projects. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia and a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Trident Seafoods to Sell Shoreside Plants, Reduce Workforce

Trident Seafoods said Dec. 12 that it’s looking for potential buyers for four of its shoreside processing plants as part of a restructuring initiative to streamline its Alaska operations and refocus the company’s global commercial strategy. The company also revealed that it plans to reduce the workforce at its Seattle headquarters by 10%. The announcement comes as Trident acknowledges the need to adapt to the changing dynamics of the global seafood industry. Trident CEO Joe Bundrant said the restructuring is designed to focus operations and investments on assets to fuel that shift. SBA Offering Disaster Loans to Those Impacted by Calif. Salmon Fishery Closure

Low-interest disaster loans are now being made available by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to small businesses that were economically impacted by closure of the 2023 California salmon fishery from April 6 through Oct. 31, 2023. The deadline to apply is Aug. 29. The SBA announced Dec. 7 that eligibility for assistance is based solely on the financial impact of the disaster and not on actual property damage. California SBA centers are offering free, personalized counseling to help affected businesses recover. The disaster declaration makes SBA assistance available in Alameda, Amador, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Del Norte, Humboldt, Kern, Kings, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbar...
